What exactly is beef tallow?
Beef tallow is rendered fat from cattle, specifically grass-fed beef in our case. It's been used for centuries as a skin protectant and moisturizer because it's molecularly similar to human skin oils. We render, filter, and whip it into a light texture that absorbs easily without the greasy feel of traditional tallow.
Is beef tallow good for sensitive skin?
Yes, it's actually one of the best options for sensitive skin. Because tallow is molecularly similar to your skin's own oils, it doesn't trigger the same reactions that synthetic lotions and chemical-based moisturizers often do. It's free of seed oils, artificial fragrances, and synthetic preservatives — the usual suspects behind irritation and flare-ups. We have customers with eczema, rosacea, and highly reactive skin who use Bullbee as their only moisturizer.
Will this make my skin greasy?
No. We whip our tallow to create a light texture that absorbs quickly. Unlike petroleum-based lotions that sit on top of your skin, tallow is recognized by your body and absorbs into your skin. Most guys are surprised at how quickly it soaks in.
Does it smell like beef?
No. Our rendering and filtering process removes any meat smell. The final product has either no scent or a very subtle, natural scent depending on the ingredients in each formula. It definitely doesn't smell like a steakhouse.
How is this different from regular lotion?
Regular lotions are usually water-based with synthetic chemicals, preservatives, and fragrances. They sit on top of your skin. Tallow is fat-based, similar to your skin's natural oils, so it actually absorbs and works with your skin. Plus, we only use ingredients you can actually pronounce.
What skin types can use this?
All skin types. Even if you have oily skin or are prone to acne, beef tallow won't clog your pores (it's non-comedogenic). We have customers with dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and sensitive skin who all see great results.
Can I use this on my face?
Absolutely. Our Texas tallow works great as a face moisturizer, especially after shaving. Many Bull Bee customers use it as their only facial moisturizer. Start with a small amount. A little goes a long way.
How do I use it?
Simple. Take a small amount (pea-sized for your face, more for your body), rub it between your hands to warm it up, and apply to clean skin. Use it after showering, after shaving, or whenever your skin feels dry. Morning and night works for most guys.
